My Reviews & Blog
Alright, I'm a big fan of Kelly Clarkson because of the fact that a lot of what she writes in her music is from real life experiences.
I like all of her singles, but among them I picked four that I think are her best singles to date... not so much because of how the song did on album charts, but "best singles to date" meaning they are her best songs that she's written and released as a single.
Anyways, the four best singles Kelly has released are:
***Sober
***Because of You
***Breakaway
***A Moment Like This (the people behind American Idol actually wrote this song)
Review: "Sober"
I'm doing a review on Kelly Clarkson's second single, "Sober".
She released this song six weeks after "Never Again", and I think it's one of the best songs that she's written. It sounds very similar to Sarah McLachlan.
"Three months and I'm still sober".
She sings "three months" thirteen times in the song (album version) and it's sung like a prayer.
The song is about getting over an addiction, something you want that you can't have. It's not about drinking or alcohol.... "Sober" is a metaphor.
"My December" will be hitting stores shelves soon, June 26!
I can't wait to hear the new album!

My favorite songs from MD (the released preview clips I heard so far):
1) Never Again = good song about a breakup
2) Sober = sounds like early '90s ballad, sounds like "Because of You"
3) Can I Have A Kiss = very soulful, almost sounds like a country song
4) One Minute* (saw on Fox Daytona 500) = very fun song
5) Maybe = a song i can relate to because i've had relationship problems
6) Haunted = sounds like a sad song, i like the music in this song
"Never Again" is Kelly Clarkson's first single off her new album, 'My December'. When the song was first released to radio, I heard it, and after listening to it, it sounded a bit like "Behind These Hazel Eyes", except she was more upset with her ex in this song ("Never Again").
This song kind of reminds me of the songs that Pat Benatar sing and also it reminds me of that one song by Alanis Morissette - "You Oughta Know".
I've heard the KIIS-FM Ryan Seacrest interview with Kelly Clarkson and she said that "this is one of the most bitter songs" that she's "ever written".
